Welcome to my blog
Hello and welcome to my blog where I'll be sharing all my secrets. I'm a surface pattern designer, artist and illustrator who loves colour, pattern and beautiful art. I love to take inspiration from the immediate world around me and my daily life involves sourcing inspiration from wild flowers, animals and art that fills my heart with love!
I begin each project with a lot of thought before sketching, painting and on occasion working digitally directly in illustrator. I colour my artwork by using colours from nature that I find irresistible generally taking them from my own original photographs and art work. I love to work in a way that makes my art unique and personal and am develop my style so it is easily recognisable.
Anyway, I'm rushing ahead! . . To tell you a bit more about myself, I am a yoga and zumba enthusiast and teach ballet to preschoolers in my spare time. Dance has always been a part of my life and is my other major passion. I can't imagine going through life without art or dance and find both creative paths so fulfilling.
Since last Summer I have challenged myself to learn photoshop and illustrator and have done Bonnie Christine's 3 courses on Skillshare as well as modules 1 & 2 of The Art & Business of Surface Pattern Design with Make it in Design. I am currently working on a new workshop with Bonnie Christine and am a proud member of The Roost Tribe with Going Home to Roost.
